CO2 not the only villain in global warming

Denitrification of soil: And while some see nitrogen as helping
to reduce global warming by stimulating plant growth, hence locking
more carbon away, this benefit is likely to be overshadowed by an
increased rate of denitrification in the soil, which pumps NOx back
into the atmosphere.
